How do I know I need Shoreline Stabilization?
Erosion may not always appear to be as bad as it actually is, but it’s important to consult with Knoxville Barge experts if you:
- Notice any loss of land along the shoreline
- Have property that is not located in the back of a cove
- Have a shoreline that is more than two feet above the riverbed or lakebed
- Have an existing rip rap, sea wall, or retaining wall that is damaged
Shoreline stabilization in the Tennessee River Valley area is regulated by the Tennessee Valley Authority. This means that all projects must be pre-approved by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in accordance with TVA Act Section 26a regulations.
